Public Works Department Hosts Town Hall in St. Peters Ahead of Property Condition Survey

Date:

On February 15, 2024, the St. Peter’s Community Center was the venue for a crucial town hall meeting, focusing on the rehabilitation of St. Peters Main Road and F.T. Williams Highway East. This event brought together dozens of residents, including the Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, Ambassador Cedric Liburd, and key figures from the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Sustainable Development.

Chaired by the Permanent Secretary of Public Infrastructure, Mr. Daryl Lloyd, the meeting addressed the project’s progress and future plans, including road widening, new sidewalks, and underground drainage. Concerns about detours, noise, and dust pollution were also discussed, with assurances of minimal disruption and opportunities for public input.

The Hon. Konris G M Maynard and other project leaders highlighted the upcoming property condition survey and the significance of community feedback in shaping the project. Contractor Alexes Hazel of Rock & Dirt Ltd committed to incorporating public concerns into the design and construction process.

In closing remarks, Prime Minister Dr. Terrence Drew emphasized the project’s overdue nature and its importance for the St. Peters community. For more details, contact the Public Works Department at 467-1122.
