PWD: Road Team Safeguards Pedestrians in School Zones as Work on Speed Bumps Begins

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts – The Roads Division of the Public Works Department is taking advantage of students’ summer vacation to ensure that the speed bumps at all schools are fit for purpose.

Work commenced on the speed bumps at Washington Archibald High School on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, and the crew completed the job one day later. On August 9, the crew moved to the Beach Allen Primary School in Taylors Village to conduct similar maintenance and repair work.

This ongoing activity demonstrates the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, and Domestic Transport’s commitment to ensuring road safety in school zones typically associated with heavy pedestrian traffic.

We will update the public on the crew’s progress as it moves across the island.
