FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PUBLIC NOTICE – Unauthorized Entry into Restricted Water Facilities
Basseterre, Saint Kitts — The Saint Kitts Water Services Department advises the public that unauthorized entry into restricted areas surrounding our water intakes, storage tanks, and other water infrastructure is strictly prohibited.
Despite the presence of clearly marked warning signs, there have been continued incidents of persons trespassing into these restricted facilities. Such actions pose serious risks to public safety, the security of the water supply, and the integrity of critical infrastructure.
The WSD wishes to remind all members of the public that trespassing into these restricted areas constitutes an offence under the Watercourse and Waterworks Act.
Any individual found entering or remaining in these restricted areas without authorization will be subject to prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
We urge the public to:
- Adhere to all warning signs and restricted access notices.
- Keep away from water intakes, storage tanks, and other secured water facilities.
- Report any unauthorized activity observed at these facilities to the appropriate authorities.
Protecting our nation’s water infrastructure is a shared responsibility. Your cooperation is essential in safeguarding the quality, security, and reliability of our water supply.
We thank the public for their continued understanding and support.
