WSD Issues Stern Warning Over Illegal Water Connections and Equipment Tampering

Date:

The Water Services Department (WSD) wishes to advise the general public that it is an offence under the Watercourses and Waterworks Act to interfere with or damage any device or equipment which forms part of the waterworks system.

Persons who commit such offences are liable, upon conviction, to fines or imprisonment for a term of up to six (6) months.

The WSD has already engaged the assistance of the Police Force and will ensure that all persons found tampering with or damaging water infrastructure are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Department thanks the public for its cooperation as it continues to protect and maintain the nation’s water supply system.

Signed,
The Water Services Department
