Basseterre, St. Kitts (Public Infrastructure News) – The Public Works Department (PWD) in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, has officially released its work plan for the next few weeks, and we are breaking down the projects by location, description of work, and projected timelines. Here’s what you can expect.
Road and Drain Work in Half Moon and Frigate Bay
From February 9 to February 13, 2026, teams will be in Half Moon and Frigate Bay clearing the roadside to facilitate surface water access to storm drains. The asphalt crew will also cut and patch sections of road in the area.
Hillside Stabilization in Camps
In Camps, the concrete crew will stabilize the hillside to mitigate the risk of erosion and its potential to undermine the roadway. The crew will also engage in road repairs.
This project will involve the excavation and stabilization of the roadside, the construction of a retaining wall and repairs to the curb, drains, and asphalt.
The project is scheduled for February 9 to February 20, 2026.
Drain Demolition and Reconstruction in Conaree
In Conaree, approximately 417 ft of curbs and drains will be demolished and recast. The project is also scheduled for February 9 to February 20, 2026.
Patching in Various Locations
From February 15 to February 20, 2026, the asphalt crew will patch roads in Acacia Gardens (Frigate Bay), Bird Rock, and Conaree.
