Energy Unit Promotes Public Consultation on Small-Scale Renewable Energy Systems

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts – On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Director of the Energy Unit, Dr. Bertill Browne, and Energy Officer, Denasio Frank, joined the hosts of Island Tea, to discuss the upcoming public consultation on small-scale renewable energy.

The consultation is scheduled for June 13, 2024, at the Solid Waste Management Corporation in Basseterre. It aims to allow the general public an opportunity to provide input into the draft regulations that would govern connectivity of distributed renewable energy systems to the grid. It also aims to explain the potential feed-in tariff regime, through which owners of renewable energy systems may be compensated for the excess energy the grid harnesses from such systems.
