Basseterre, Saint Kitts (Public Infrastructure News) – On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities completed another significant step in the ongoing transformation of its website, MoPIEUDT.GOV.KN, into a citizen-centered public infrastructure platform.
The addition of the new “Now” page, short for “What’s Happening Now,” centralizes public access to fieldwork information from the Public Works and Water Services Departments. Previously, this information could only be accessed through separate departmental articles displayed in designated news blocks or discovered through search.
“Now” retains the general character of the routine operational updates that inform citizens about the activities of field personnel. It also aggregates this information in a compact format, allowing citizens to quickly determine whether and how the Ministry’s field activities may affect them.
This is the latest in a class of additions to the website that now reflects a distinctive citizen-first approach to communication and public engagement. Roughly eight weeks earlier, Street Scout and WaterWatch SKN reporting mechanisms were developed and implemented on the website. These mechanisms enable members of the public to submit information about road and water service issues, while also underscoring the importance of public participation in the Ministry’s delivery of its mandates.
With the introduction of “Now”, the Ministry is not only providing citizens with important operational information, but is also strengthening transparency around the reporting mechanisms by showing citizens how their submissions contribute to the Ministry’s ongoing field operations and activities.
