WSD Implements Tightened Security Measures at Olivees Reservoir

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The St. Kitts Water Services Department (WSD) is on course to tighten security at the Olivees reservoir in a proactive move intended to add a layer of redundancy to its security protocols.

An internal communique dated Thursday, 13th February 2025, reads, “Construction of fencing for the Olivees reservoir commences on Wednesday, 19th February 2025.”

The fence will bolster complementary measures the WSD has implemented to ensure potable water meets acceptable standards for consumption by reducing the risk of contamination by passers-by who might unknowingly contaminate the water supply.

The WSD anticipates the project’s completion by July 2025.
