Dr. Eustace Arrindell Facilitates Customer Service Training for the Ministry of Public Infrastructure

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – Senior Advisor to the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis and Professor of Political and Environmental Science at the State University of New York, Dr. Eustace Arrindell, has been tapped to facilitate customer service training for the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, and Domestic Transport.

Day one of the two-day session convened on March 31 in the St. Kitts Electricity Company (SKELEC) conference room in Needsmust, with 21 participating staff from the Public Works Department, the Water Services Department, and the administrative division of the Ministry.

Permanent Secretary Daryll Lloyd delivered brief remarks during the opening ceremony.

Mr. Lloyd underscored the importance of good customer service practices to the Ministry’s operations.

Mr. Lloyd explained that the training falls within the broader context of the Ministry’s thrust toward strengthening the capacity of its employees.

The Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry, and the event coordinator, Shaniqua Carey-Brown, provided additional details about the significance of the training session.

“The training aligns with the Ministry’s RISE (Resources for Infrastructure Staff Excellence) initiative, ensuring employees have access to structured professional development opportunities. Staff members will earn credits toward their professional growth, leading to better job performance, promotion eligibility, and overall workforce efficiency. Additionally, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation and their training credits will be recorded in their personnel files for future career advancement.”

  • Effective communication and active listening
  • Conflict resolution and handling difficult situations

  • Practical role-play scenarios

The session concludes on April 1, 2025, with a second group of staff from the Ministry.
