Basseterre, St. Kitts (Public Infrastructure News) – The St. Kitts Water Services Department (WSD) will engage in a community outreach initiative that will take its Customer Service staff into communities around the island by March 2026.
WSD Customer Service Manager, Shanda Queeley-Hanley, made the announcement on the January 28th edition of the Water Line alongside the Assistant Customer Service Manager, Ginika Williams, in an interview centered on customer service.
The schedule of community visits has not been finalized, but Queeley-Hanley stated that priority zones will be determined using departmental data.
In December 2025, Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Hon. Konris Maynard, revealed that unpaid customer bills totaled $21 million.
The WSD’s customer service initiative will support the division’s drive to update customer information, facilitate payments and structure payment arrangements for customers whose bills are in arrears, and strengthen ongoing efforts to educate customers about lowering their monthly bills.
The Water Line airs on ZIZ TV Channel 5 and ZIZ Radio 96.1 FM on the second and fourth Wednesday each month at 10:30 a.m.
