Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – On November 1, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will kickstart its annual observance of Energy Month. The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Invest, Innovate, Sustain: Leading the Charge in Renewable Energy Frontiers.”
On October 31, the Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, and Domestic Transport, Hon. Konris Maynard, is expected to establish the context of St. Kitts and Nevis’ observance of Energy Month, and the country’s progress in the energy sector in a televised speech.

The Director of the Energy Unit, Dr. Bertill Browne, and Energy Officer Denasio Frank will make a series of media appearances to discuss the Unit’s work and future plans to propel the energy sector further along the path of sustainability.

The Unit is expected to release its calendar of events shortly, which will include other activities meant to engage the public and raise awareness of the Unit’s work.
On Friday, November 7, 2025, the Unit will launch the Doh Press Me Competition, which puts a fun spin on wearing wrinkled clothing to conserve energy.

Each Friday in November, citizens and residents are invited to leave the iron unplugged, embrace the natural look, and share their “rough dry” style.
Participants must post a photo or short video of themselves in unpressed clothing on Facebook using the hashtags #noironday
and #dohpressme to be eligible for a cash prize.
