Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The two million gallons per day Basseterre Desalination Plant promises to be the solution to the water woes experienced by numerous customers of the St. Kitts Water Services Department in Basseterre.

The EC$50 million project was advanced by the Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, and Domestic Transport, Hon. Konris Maynard, in response to climatic challenges that induced less rainfall than the demand for potable water. Months after the groundbreaking ceremony on July 17, 2024, the project is underway with visible signs of progress.
