Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The St. Kitts Water Services Department (WSD) wishes to advise the public of a temporary interruption in water supply affecting Buckleys, Shadwell, Pine Garden, Shadwell Housing, College Housing, Wade’s Garden, Taylor’s, and Taylor’s Housing.
This interruption is necessary to facilitate the final stages of work to complete the interconnection between Ponds 1 to Ponds 5, which form part of system upgrades complementing the Basseterre Desalination Plant and aimed at ensuring reliable 24-hour water service. To safely facilitate these works, Pond 5 was temporarily taken offline. The interconnection process took longer than initially anticipated, resulting in reduced water levels at the Olivee’s tank.
The WSD is actively managing the system, and water service is expected to be restored by 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
