Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – On Monday, December 15, 2025, work continued in the vicinity of Factory Road, Basseterre, as the Public Works Department in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, and Domestic Transport energized its assault on deteriorating public infrastructure.
Swift progress has been made since MoPIEUDT NEWS first visited the site on December 12, to observe members of the concrete crew working on drainage along the roadside and the simultaneous efforts of the asphalt crew compacting material in preparation for the paving.

Bright and early on Monday morning (December 15, 2025), signs of progress marked the streets as orange cones restricting vehicular access signalled PWD’s ongoing roadwork in the area, bordered on one end by the newly constructed segment of drains the team was working on a few days before.

By early Monday afternoon, the team had laid fresh asphalt, accelerating the area’s transformation for the enjoyment of residents and commuters.

As the PWD continues to maintain and improve public infrastructure, it is calling on the general public to support its efforts.
